  • Who can participate in your programs?

    Our programs are available to veterans and first responders who are struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, or other trauma-related challenges.

  • Do I need to have experience with horses to participate?

    No prior experience with horses is necessary! Our team of trained professionals will guide you through every step of the process. If you are interested in deepening your experience with horses, we have programs available to help you build your equine skills.

  • How long are the therapy sessions?

    Sessions typically last between 60 to 90 minutes, though program lengths may vary based on individual needs and progress.

  • Is equine therapy safe?

    Yes! our therapy sessions are supervised by trained professionals, including licensed equine specialists. The safety and comfort of both participants and horses is our top priority.

  • Is equine therapy covered by insurance?

    Equine therapy is not always covered by insurance, but we recommend checking with your provider. Some programs may offer financial assistance or scholarships. Our program is free however, we recommend checking-in with your insurance provider if you have any. special considerations.

  • How do I enroll in your program?

  • What qualifications do the staff members have?

    Our team consists of New York Sate certified equine specialists, and trained equine therapy facilitators with experience in working with trauma survivors. Many of our trainers are veterans and first-responders themselves and understand your needs firsthand.

  • How much does it cost to participate in equine therapy?

    Before the Last Call is a non-profit, free program for all veterans and first responders. We rely on donations to cover our operating costs.

  • Are donations to your nonprofit tax-deductible?

    Yes, as a registered 501(c)(3) organization, donations made to our non-profit are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • Can I refer someone to your program?

    Absolutely. You can refer veterans or first responders to our program by contacting us directly or through our website, by phone or Email.

  • Are there any age restrictions for participants?

    Our program is open to adult veterans and first responders ages 18-and-up. For younger participants, we may offer special programs depending on their needs. Please, include any special considerations, such as your age or disability status, on our intake form.
